Claude Koch was a professor of English at La Salle University in 1960 when he owned this house. He was a professor at La Salle from 1946 until he retired in 1986. Koch was a prolific writer of poems, short stories, and novels. His 1985 short story,. "Bread and Butter Questions," received an O. Henry Award. Koch passed away in 2000.
