The Harada House

Japanese immigrant Jukichi Harada purchased this home in 1915 in the names of his three American born children because the 1913 Alien Land Law prohibited Asian immigrants from owning land or property. The home gained international attention as the object of a historic court case testing the legality of the Alien Land Law. The house has remained in the Harada family since 1915.
