Daniel Flanagan was western director (11 states) for the American Federation of Labor in 1961 when he owned this house. He was president of the Serra Club in 1948. The Serra Club is a not-for-profit Roman Catholic organization composed of over 20,000 members. Flanagan was a charter member and organizer of the Teamsters Local 860 Warehouse Union.
