R.J. Barbieri was national director and San Francisco chairman of Bank of America in 1961 when he owned this house. Bank of America is the largest bank holding company in the United States by assets and second largest by market capitilization. Barbieri began his career with Bank of America in 1915 as a messenger. He was a former president of the USO.
