Maurice Harrison was a partner in the powerful San Francisco law firm Brobeck, Phleger Harrison in 1947 when he owned this house. He was dean of the Hastings College of Law from 1919 to 1925. In 1928 Harrison was chairman of the democratic state convention. Brobeck, Phleger Harrison, one of San Francisco's most prestigious and largest law firms closed in 2003. The firm was founded in 1926 and had offices around the world. They fell victim to the tech-stock crash of 2000.
