William Ittner was an architect in 1912 when he owned this house. He was commissioner of school buildings for the St. Louis Board of Education from 1897 to 1910. Ittner designed McKinley, Emerson, Yeatman, Soldan and Sumner high schools. He was president of the Architectural League of America in 1903 and 1904.
